Kurt Whalen

The son of two Republican teachers, Kurt grew up in the small farming community of Oneida, Illinois. He graduated from ROWVA High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Augustana College. After college he worked in several different blue collar professions, eventually settling on the area of computers. For the past ten years Kurt has been employed at Purina’s Davenport manufacturing facility as an Information Systems Technician. Kurt has been married to his wife Rachel (also a teacher) for 11 years and has two young sons, William and Thomas.
A lifelong Republican, Kurt has been heavily involved with the Republican Party since 2012 when he was elected to attend the Republican National Convention as an Alternate delegate. Since then he has volunteered time as a Precinct Leader, Central Committee Member, served on various other party committees, and was one of two Republican Judges appointed to officiate the Scott County 2014 Absentee Ballot Precinct.
